To cultivate senior professionals with a solid and broad foundation in theory and systematic, in-depth specialized knowledge, capable of independently engaging in scientific research and teaching work, and possessing in-depth insights and research capabilities on strategic issues or legal issues in educational development, as well as in economics and sociology.

V. Training Methods and Requirements for the Progress of Main Training Stages

(1) Training Method

Supervisor responsibility system.

(2) Requirements for the Progress of Main Training Stages

Coursework should be completed within 1-1.5 years. After passing the assessments, the Ph.D. candidacy qualification exam (disciplinary comprehensive exam) is taken in the 4th semester, followed by the proposal defense for the doctoral dissertation.

(3) Strengthening Academic Integrity, Strict Self-discipline, and Adherence to Academic Ethics and Norms

Adherence to academic ethics and norms, and strict self-discipline should be integrated into all stages of doctoral study: be diligent and earnest in coursework, abide by classroom discipline; be honest and serious in exams, adhering to examination rules; be rigorous and meticulous in academic research, not seeking empty fame, and follow academic norms; avoid plagiarism and misappropriation of others' research results in thesis writing and publication, adhere to academic ethics, and maintain strict self-discipline.

(4) Establishment of an "Academic Progress Report" System

In accordance with the relevant requirements of the university, an "Academic Progress Report" system is established. Specifically, it is required that doctoral students submit a report once per semester to facilitate supervisors' timely understanding of the students' academic progress, research status, progress on the doctoral dissertation, and personal circumstances.

VI. Basic Requirements for Knowledge Structure and Coursework

(1) Basic Requirements for Knowledge Structure

The basic requirements for the knowledge structure include mastery and proficient use of a foreign language. Students should grasp and apply Marxist perspectives, positions, and methods to analyze and research issues. They should systematically master and apply the basic theories and methods of pedagogy, management, economics, or law and sociology to study educational phenomena and practical problems. The curriculum is structured into four categories: general courses, major courses, elective courses, and prerequisite courses. Prerequisite courses are designed for doctoral students admitted to this major with equivalent academic qualifications or from other disciplines, requiring at least two prerequisite courses to be completed without academic credit. Students may choose from the prerequisite course category in the doctoral training program at their level or select from any master's level courses offered by the faculty (from any course category).

Credit Requirements

The total credit requirement for courses is set at no less than 28 credits. General courses should account for no less than 5 credits, methodology courses for at least 6 credits, major courses for at least 12 credits, elective courses for at least 4 credits, and social practice for at least 1 credit.

VII. Qualifying Examinations

The comprehensive discipline examination is a holistic assessment that doctoral students must pass after completing their coursework and before formally entering the dissertation research phase. The examination consists of both written and oral components. For specific regulations, please refer to the "Faculty of Education Doctoral Comprehensive Examination Management Regulations."

Note on Elective Courses:

It is recommended that students complete elective courses under the guidance of their supervisor. In addition to the designated elective courses, students may choose the remaining elective courses from the range of courses offered across the university.

VIII. Academic Exchange Activities

The faculty encourages doctoral students to actively participate in various academic lectures.

IX. Social Practice

This refers to the internationalization component, worth 1 credit. Fulfilling one of the following conditions is acceptable. Starting from the doctoral students of the class of 2020, the student must provide relevant proof during the training program review period. One of the following conditions must be met: 1. Completion of a joint graduate training program and return to the home country; 2. At least one publication in a foreign language journal; 3. Participation in an international academic conference with presentation of a paper or inclusion of the paper in the proceedings or public publication; 4. One week or more of cross-border academic visit; 5. Attendance of three or more international academic lectures (in a foreign language, with proof of attendance from the conference organizers or confirmation by signature required); 6. Completion of a full English course and earning credits.

X. Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Report

The doctoral dissertation proposal report is a specialized presentation held to elaborate on, review, and determine the topic and content of the doctoral student's dissertation, aiming to supervise and ensure the quality of the doctoral dissertation. XI. Recognition of Scientific Research and Academic Innovative Achievements

Doctoral students must have at least one academic paper related to their major, preferably a phased result of their doctoral dissertation research, officially published in a "core journal" before applying for defense (submitting the defense plan), excluding acceptance notices or proofs. The faculty must review and verify the original journal (paper). Any violations such as fraud or disciplinary violations will be reported university-wide and dealt with according to relevant regulations. XII. Dissertation Work and Requirements

(1) Thesis Writing

The research work of the doctoral dissertation is the core part of doctoral education and a concentrated reflection of the training quality and academic level of doctoral students. Doctoral students must complete the relevant thesis writing within the specified time. The doctoral dissertation is an academic paper. Under the guidance of a supervisor, the doctoral student shall independently complete the dissertation according to the planned schedule.

(2) Defense and Degree Conferral

Doctoral students who have fully completed the professional training plan, passed the examinations, and gone through the proposal procedure, having written the doctoral dissertation and its abstract, may enter the review and defense stage of the doctoral dissertation after being recommended by the instructor and approved by the Graduate School.
