Ministry of Education Humanities Education Reform and Development Research Base

To fully implement the spirit of the National Education Work Conference and the Outline of the Education Plan, and to strengthen the research on educational teaching of relevant disciplines and specialties, on December 16, 2010, the Ministry of Education issued the 'Notice on Approving the Establishment of the Ministry of Education's Discipline Education Teaching Reform and Development Research Bases (Centers)' (Education Department Letter [2010] No. 278), deciding to approve the establishment of 7 research bases (centers) for the reform and development of educational teaching in relevant disciplines entrusted by the Ministry of Education, and entrusted universities for construction, among which Renmin University of China was entrusted to build the Ministry of Education Humanities Education Reform and Development Research Base.

The Ministry of Education Humanities Education Reform and Development Research Base aims to improve the quality of talent cultivation as the core research issue of humanities education reform and development. The base will fully leverage the comprehensive advantages of Renmin University of China in humanities education and scientific research, absorb and integrate relevant intellectual resources at home and abroad, and strive to become an important consulting institution for humanities education reform and development, a think tank and brain trust for national talent cultivation, a high-level academic research center with Chinese characteristics, and an international scientific research cooperation base, constantly building consensus through this platform, serving humanities education reform, and serving the development of the country.

At present, the Ministry of Education Humanities Education Reform and Development Research Base relies on the School of Education and the Academic Affairs Office to carry out a series of humanities education reform research, regularly edits the 'Ministry of Education Humanities Education Reform and Development Research Base Newsletter', and the 'Newsletter' will focus on the basic, major, and cutting-edge issues of humanities education, grasp the latest trends in international and domestic humanities education teaching development, pay attention to the important explorations of current humanities education teaching reform, introduce the latest international dynamics of humanities education development, and explore fresh cases and experiences of domestic humanities education reform, while also conducting in-depth theoretical research on humanities education issues, with the expectation of providing references for the Ministry of Education and universities.
